Coping Strategies Survey

Transatlantic Mars Crew 261 will participated in an ongoing research study by Andres Kaosaar as a part of his PhD research at the University of Central Florida. This research study examines how emotions and coping strategies affects teams operating in ICE environments.

The study consists of four types of surveys to be completed: a pre-mission survey, daily surveys, journal entries, and an optional post-mission interview.

RATIONALE / HYPOTHESIS

Since teams working at the MDRS are extremely similar to different real teams operating in space and extreme analog environments, the data gathered will be helpful in the development of effective counter-measures for stressors that have been reported to influence teams in ICE.
